Basic Beading Class
Location: Greensburg Public Library

Basic Beading Class with Rebecca Scudder on Saturday, May 17th at 10 am. This 1½ hour class will teach the participants how to choose beads, wire, jewelry findings and tools and will include instruction on the techniques of stringing and crimping. There will be handouts to reinforce the lesson. Each participant will make a Swarovski Crystal and sterling silver bracelet. The cost for this program is $28 to cover the wholesale cost of all materials. Rebecca has taken and taught various beading classes and has created her own exclusive jewelry pieces since 1994. Rebecca owned a retail bead store in Cincinnati, but discontinued her business when she moved to Greensburg in 2006. Today, Rebecca has a home studio where she continues to create exquisitely unique beaded creations, which she sells to gift galleries, boutiques and salons. Her creations can be found locally at Mud House Pottery, where she also teaches various beading classes.

Crackaway Daze

During the festival there are many and various activities. For the children there are pony rides, an inflatable romper room, a clown, face painting, and games. For the older generation there are antique cars, farm equipment, flea market, and our famous pork dinners on Saturday for lunch, chili on Saturday night and deep fried fish from our Kiwanis Club members for Sunday lunch. During the afternoon on Saturday home made ice cream is made the old fashioned way in one of the biggest ice cream makers you’d ever want to see! Also on Saturday there is a parade that has had great participation in the past years and includes a grand variety of displays and an occasional float! During the parade the Master of Ceremonies recognizes the Festival’s Senior Citizen King and Queen as they ride by in a classic convertible.
