News Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
I-74 Lane Closures
Westbound lanes of I-74 to have intermittent closures
GREENSBURG Ind.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures on I-74 at approximately the 132 mile marker.  On January 14th and 15th between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. closures of the westbound lanes will occur.  The lanes will be closed by the Indiana State Police in 20 minute increments.  Indiana State Police will then open the lanes in order to clear traffic.  Multiple closure cycles are anticipated throughout the two nights.  During these closures workers will be placing bridge beams above the westbound lanes of I-74.

This project is part of Governor Mitch Daniels’ Major Moves highway program.  Major Moves fully funds a decade of critical highway projects in Indiana.  When Major Moves is complete in 2015, more than 200 new construction and 200 major highway preservation projects will have been built.  Major Moves capitalizes on Indiana’s strategic location at the Crossroads of America by building a superior road infrastructure.  This innovative plan will bring jobs to the Hoosier State and leave a legacy for Indiana to be a global leader in distribution and logistics.

Courthouse Tree occupies a unique place among cities of the world by reason of trees that are growing from the roof of its courthouse tower.

The presence of these trees on the courthouse tower is just as much a mystery to the citizens of Greensburg as to those who look upon it for the first time.
