Metamora
Tour the Grist Mill, learn how to make corn meal with the use of water power. Ride the Ben Franklin through the last wooden working aqueduct in the United States. Your tour guide will guide you through history as you step back in time to the 1800's. Two large draft horses will pull the Canal boat to the twin locks on the eWhitewater Canal. When you arrive back in the village of Metamora board the Whitewater Valley Railroad for a short ride along the canal. After your train ride experience the many shopping opportunity in Metamora. Shops vary from antiques to fine European lace, from candles to fine hand made Cherry furniture at the Sampler. Don't forget to stop and feed the ducks in the canal. You day trip could include a stop at one of the local fudge shops where your guide can arrange a demonstration from out Mother Fudger on how to make our famous fudge. Metamora offers numerous eateries from the Hearthstone to the Pappy's Pizza. One of my favorites is the Track Side Cafe, the owner uses the corn meal locally milled for her outstanding corn bread and muffins. After a late lunch enjoy a walk on our new Whitewater Canal trail that winds along the canal. A great way to wrap up your day in Metamora. .

Strauther Pleak Round Barn
Strauther Pleak built the round barn in 1911 on an 80 care homestead. It sits in Washington Township, Greensburg, Indiana. It resembles a three-tier cake which is very unique in Round Barns in Indiana. It also features an octagonal silo in the center, a double cupola and horizontal siding. The eighteen-foot diameter silo, lined with brick and concrete, was constructed first, and the barn was erected around it. The final restoration was accomplished after the farm was purchased in 1996 by the Reed family and the help of a great team of people and their foresight. The first goal is to start a learning center for youth to learn the importance of agriculture for the future as well as to maintain a valuable heritage. The Round Barn is open for group activities. Since it opened, it has hosted visitors from Germany, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, England, France and the United States. Programs can be customized to your group needs. Some of the programs available include: History of the Barn Examples of Indiana Crops What does it take to grow crops? Agricultural Equipment-past and present Education of Weather and how it affects crops Educations of how commodities are stored and sold Games for all ages Corn Maze Story Telling To learn more about the Barn or to book a tour call: 800.373.6064 * Certified Group Friendly

Stream Cliff Herb Farm
Stream Cliff Herb Farm, Commiskey, is owned by Betty & Gerald Manning. The farm has a long history in Betty's family. Betty's Great-grandfather lived on the farm and it has been passed down through the generations since that time.

The gardens, which are done in quilt designs, are dedicated to Betty's grandmother, Luella Tate Artz. She was a quilter and gardener and lived for more than fifty years on the farm.

The farm was raided during the Civil War by Morgan's Raiders and has been in the family for more that 100 years.

Betty and Gerald have lived in the home over 35 years and started Stream Cliff Farm soon after moving there. The business originally began with a small craft shop and gradually the emphasis was placed on herbs and perennials.

Now Stream Cliff Herb Farm consists of: four shops filled with handmade, traditional crafts and garden related items, Twigs & Sprigs Tearoom, Grandmother's Keeping Room: A Nature and Traditional Craft Learning Center, several display gardens with water features, lectures & workshops, and an extensive line of herbs, perennial flowers, old-fashioned roses, wildflowers, hosta, vines and climbers.

We also provide packages for large groups which includes an herbal meal, garden lecture or craft project, and a tour of the gardens.
