Every August, Greensburg comes alive with the sights, sounds, and stories of our farming heritage during one of the most beloved events in Decatur County—the Greensburg Power of the Past. This five-day celebration, now in its 36th year, honors the agricultural traditions that helped shape our community.
This nonprofit organization was founded in 1989, and it aims to preserve part of our agricultural heritage for all generations and historians to enjoy. What began as a gathering of antique tractor enthusiasts has evolved into a vibrant festival that attracts visitors from near and far. From Wednesday through Sunday, visitors can admire plows, combines, planters, cultivators, and more, many of which have been passed down through generations.
Whether you’re a history buff, a machinery enthusiast, or simply looking for a family-friendly weekend, the Greensburg Power of the Past offers a one-of-a-kind experience filled with nostalgia, community spirit, and hands-on fun.
